Job description

Job Summary:
The Rolling Process Engineer will optimize performance, maximize material recovery, eliminate process waste, and improve productivity & conversion costs. This is done through engineering and metallurgical solutions, focused improvement projects, and process control. This position works closely in a team environment with other Engineers and managers. This position also supports the quality systems requirement for the coil path and customer quality satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and improve processes to improve product capability & performance, process efficiency and material recovery.
  • Manage hydraulic, lubricant and filter consumable inventory/purchase orders
  • Keep coolant process in control and capable for consistent mill performance
  • Audit and communicate leak performance
  • Provide Technical expertise & support to daily activities
  • Lead and supports Coil Quality projects and activities
  • Lead or participate in the investigation, data analysis and implementation of solutions to complex problems involving multiple production centers and technical aspects
  • Create opportunities for process improvement and act on those ideas through equipment modification, process improvement, material changes, etc.
  • Support the quality systems requirement for the CPG department (internal audits, equipment calibration, MOC, CAR, PFMEA, external audits, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Quality Team on claims/ issues that need immediate resolution

Qualifications:
  • 5 Years experience in Aluminum rolling, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or proven relevant experience, strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, required
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing under specific area of discipline, required
  • Ability to adapt to a new environment, required
  • Effective communication (both written and verbal) with the ability to adapt communication styles to different audiences
  • Effective time management with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office
