Job description

Job Title: Process Specialist

Department: Production Support

Reports To: Production Manager

FLSA: Exempt


Summary:

Analyzes, designs, and optimizes business workflows to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. A pivotal role in organizational efficiency and innovation. Engage in technical or customer-facing responsibilities, contribute to strategic planning, and participate in industry events or knowledge-sharing activities to stay current with best practices to ensure that business operations are efficient, scalable, and continuously improving.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Examine existing workflows to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and opportunities for automation or improvement, ensuring alignment with organizational goals 
  • Develop and implement new processes, workflows, and technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency 
  • Create detailed process documentation, including process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials 
  • Work with multiple departments to gather requirements, facilitate meetings, and ensure process improvements are effectively integrated 
  • Educate employees on new processes and systems, providing guidance to ensure smooth adoption and compliance 
  • Measure process performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, identifying areas for further improvement 
  • Evaluate potential risks in existing or proposed processes and develop mitigation strategies 
  • Quickly identify issues and implement effective solutions to maintain workflow efficiency 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving 

instructions:

(a). can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes;

(b). perform work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business, engineering, computer science, or management and/or a combination of education and experience equivalence.
  • 3–5 years in a similar role or in process improvement initiatives 
  • Proficiency in process design principles, Lean, Six Sigma, Agile methodologies, and tools such as but not limited to Visio, BPMN, or RPA software.
  • Ability to collect, organize, and interpret data, identify problems, and evaluate alternatives 
  • Strong communication, collaboration, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities 
  • Coaching team members and fostering a culture of continuous improvement 
  • Intermediate computer skills, including strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong focus on follow-up and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze data.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of time.

  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. 

Work environment: Plant and Office

  • Exposure to changes in temperature, dust, fumes and chemicals.
  • Exposure to moderately loud noise while in the plant.
  • Exposure to low noise levels while in the office.
  • Personal protective equipment required.
