Job description

4-month contract Fusion Pharmaceuticals, a member of the AstraZeneca Group, is a clinical-stage oncology company focused on developing next generation radioconjugates (RCs) as precision medicines. Fusion has multiple pipeline programs entering early FIH trials. In addition, Fusion is pursuing combination programs between RCs and other therapeutic modalities including DNA Damage Response Inhibitors (DDRis) and immune-oncology agents.

To support execution for these programs, Fusion has a fully operational Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant state-of-the-art radioconjugate manufacturing facility to meet the demand for our growing pipeline of RCs. Introduction to position: We are seeking students pursuing studies within the fields of Science, Technology and Engineering for a full-time, 4-month internship from January to April 2027. The intern will be fully involved in the Process Engineering department of the Fusion Pharmaceuticals division.

Responsibilities may include: Equipment and automation support: Assist with routine checks, calibration coordination, and troubleshooting of unit operations and associated automation/data acquisition systems. Process improvement projects: Support continuous improvement and process robustness initiatives (e.g., cycle time reduction, right-first-time, error-proofing) using basic Lean/Six Sigma tools

Documentation and GMP records: Author or revise controlled documents (SOPs, batch records, logbooks) under guidance; ensure accurate, timely entry of production data in accordance with GDP. Tech transfer and change execution: Contribute to small-scale trials, protocol execution, and change control documentation for process changes and technology transfer activities. Qualifications: Education: Currently enrolled in a undergraduate program in Science, Technology, Engineering, or related discipline Hands-On skills: Proficiency with basic tools eg.

Screwdrivers, wrenches, measurement tools, digital multimeters. Data skills: Proficiency in machine learning and applications of AI. GMP awareness: Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Documentation Practices; prior regulated industry exposure (pharma, medical devices, food) provides a benefit.

Technical communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience drafting technical notes, procedures, or lab reports with attention to detail and traceability. Problem-solving attitude: Demonstrated ability to structure problems, analyze root causes and propose practical solutions with follow-through. Collaboration and ownership: Comfortable working cross-functionally with other departments; proactive, organized, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Safety focus: Commitment to a strong safety culture; willingness to learn and comply with radiation safety, aseptic handling, and EHS requirements. Experience working in a nuclear laboratory is an asset. What you'll learn: As an Intern at Fusion Pharmaceuticals, you will have the opportunity to learn about the use of radioactive materials in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, and the implementation of complex technologies to safely harness these materials.
