Job description

Position Title: Process Engineer
Location: CORPORATE OFFICE
FLSA Class: EXEMPT
Responsible to: Mechanical Engineering Manager
Position Summary: VoltaGrid is revolutionizing behind-the-meter turnkey power generation and distribution, enabling our customers to slash costs, reduce fuel consumption, and optimize power loads in data centers, mining, and oil & gas. This position is primarily responsible for developing mechanical engineering designs, technical specifications, equipment lists, general arrangements, failure analysis, engineering studies, standards/work practices, and process flow diagrams. While primarily an office role, the Process Engineer will support on-site commissioning and troubleshooting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop mechanical engineering designs, equipment lists, general arrangements, and process flow diagrams (PFDs) in accordance with project requirements.
  • Prepare technical specifications, and sizing calculations for major equipment, including but not limited to gas compression, gas conditioning and power generation.
  • Perform intermediate complexity engineering designs including analysis, calculations, research, and equipment selection.
  • Provide field installation support and construction personnel and in pre-commissioning & start-up support.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and analysis of mechanical designs to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
  • Interact with 3rd party OEM packagers and general contractors to coordinate mechanical engineering activities and ensure project success.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs with overall project objectives.
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and client presentations to communicate progress, findings, and recommendations effectively.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on industries such as Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Gas Processing, or Mobile Equipment (experience in these industries is advantageous).
  • Strong understanding of heavy equipment and off-highway equipment design principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations applicable to mechanical engineering design.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving technologies and industry practices.

Other Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Aspen, SolidWorks.
  • Experience with mechanical systems design in the power generation, oil and gas and/or mining industries.
  • Experience in the installation, operation, or troubleshooting of natural gas compression or power generation equipment.
