Job description

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) Engineering Services seeks a professional, innovative, and detailed individual for our Designer Intern position. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work full-time during the summer and/or part-time during the school year. If you are a current student at an accredited university in the Pullman, WA area looking for an opportunity to develop your electrical design knowledge, learn from industry leading engineers, and enhance your academic learning, then this may be the position for you.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Create detailed physical and electrical designs and support job estimates under the supervision of a technical lead
2. Prepare CAD drawings and other project documentation.
3. Provide design engineering support to project technical leads.
4. Complete assigned work and submit within timelines and budgets with a high level of quality.
5. Use best available processes and tools and provide feedback on process enhancements.
6. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
7. Understand. Create. Simplify.
8. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Pursuing a 2-year electronic engineering technology degree
Basic working knowledge of analog and digital electronics
Familiarity with modern test equipment
Good technical writing and presentation skills
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)
Preferred Qualifications
Electronic troubleshooting experience
Knowledge of SEL equipment
AutoCAD Experience
