Job description

Process Control Technician About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Process Control Technician – Dimensional to join our Quality team. This position plays an important role in maintaining product quality by performing inspections, supporting process control activities, analyzing quality data, and helping identify and resolve manufacturing issues.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with dimensional inspection, SPC, sheet metal components and assemblies, measurement equipment, and weld inspection.

What You'll Do
  • Perform dimensional inspections and verify components, assemblies, and tooling meet customer and quality requirements.
  • Interpret SPC control charts and statistical data to identify process issues and determine appropriate containment actions.
  • Inspect assembly line check fixtures and perform SPC inspections.
  • Develop and maintain gauging and inspection instructions.
  • Verify inspection records and completed work meet established quality standards.
  • Identify and contain non-conforming material and communicate issues to Quality and Production leadership.
  • Work with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Weld Technicians, and Production to identify root causes and develop corrective actions.
  • Support root-cause investigations, action plans, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain and use welding, weld-destructive, and non-destructive inspection equipment.
  • Assist with customer sample submissions as needed.
  • Help train employees on process control and inspection methods.
  • Maintain accurate inspection equipment and support gauge calibration activities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Participate in shift handoffs and communicate important quality concerns to incoming team members.
  • Follow all applicable safety, quality, environmental, and company procedures.
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in quality inspection, process control, or dimensional inspection.
  • Experience with GMAW and RSW applications.
  • Knowledge of SPC, particularly as it relates to sheet metal stamping and assemblies.
  • Experience using standard measurement, inspection, and testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, procedures, reports, and quality documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable working with computers and quality-related software.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to pass Near Vision Acuity and Color Contrast Differential examinations.
  • Level IV NDT certification in UT is required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to stand, bend, walk, climb, and perform other physical activities required in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment, electrical hazards, and other environmental conditions.
  • Ability to safely handle hazardous materials in accordance with established procedures.
