Job Description

Join HII - Mission Technologies and make a difference by joining us as a Manufacturing Intern for 2026. As an Intern, you will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior leadership. Support the Engineering team with engineering functions in one or more of the following specialties: electronics, electrical, and/or mechanical. Assist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support.
Applicants will be involved in all stages of R&D projects as well as product development projects.
U.S. citizenship required.
Essential Job Responsibilities
• Assist engineers with basic design, testing, and documentation tasks.
• Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for ongoing projects.
• Help review engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement, quality, or manufacturing activities.
• Work hands on on Production/Prototype floor under supervision.
• Complete assigned projects and present findings to the engineering team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent +
  • Must be actively enrolled in a 2-4 year college/university working towards an Bachelor's degree with up to 20% of the required credits completed.

Preferred Requirements
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, automation, or quality control.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Comfortable using measurement tools and data collection methods.
• Strong computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and basic data analysis.
• Effective communication skills to work with cross-functional teams on the shop floor and in engineering.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
