Job Summary

The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving product and process quality while ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards and customer requirements. This role utilizes data analysis, quality engineering tools, and structured problem-solving methods to identify issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.


Job Responsibilities

  • Manage corrective and preventive actions for internal processes and customer quality concerns.
  • Develop and optimize process parameters to support consistent product quality.
  • Implement and maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC) practices on the manufacturing floor.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques to improve processes and reduce waste.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements.
  • Investigate quality issues using root cause analysis and other structured problem-solving methods.
  • Prepare, complete, and implement 8D corrective action reports.
  • Support the development and maintenance of PFMEAs, control plans, and capability studies.
  • Analyze quality data and trends to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and other teams to resolve quality concerns and prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain a strong customer-focused approach when addressing quality issues and requirements.


Job Requirements

  • 4–7 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Control Engineering, or a similar manufacturing quality role.
  • Experience working within an automotive IATF 16949 quality management system.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), including implementation and ongoing utilization.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and proven problem-solving methodologies.
  • Familiarity with PFMEA, control plans, and process capability studies.
  • Working knowledge of blueprint interpretation and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience completing and implementing 8D corrective actions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make consistent, data-driven decisions.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with MeasureLink is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, twist, stand, walk, push, pull, and lift/move items weighing 50 pounds or more as required.
