Position Overview:
The Process Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting all areas in Power Conductor and Manufacturing encompassing, but not limited to, procedure writing, operator and supervisor training, process improvements, troubleshooting process issues, evaluation of non-conforming product, and maintenance. In this position, you will coordinate technical discussions for the processes involved in your assigned area. This position will support existing Engineering personnel in this area. Candidates must be willing and able to work any shift.
Responsibilities and Duties: (*Indicates an Essential Function)
  • *Monitor daily operations for conformance to standard process specifications.
  • *Hands-on support of manufacturing processes.
  • *Troubleshooting process problems and documentation of corrective actions.
  • *Assist in training of production personnel on new products, equipment and processes.
  • *Conduct trials for the department. This includes gathering data and analyzing information.
  • Ensure all database information and reporting is both timely and accurate.
  • Identify trends, resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or working with engineering team to provide resolution.
  • Help remedy malfunctions in collaboration with Engineering and Production.
  • Assist Department in the startup and evaluation of new products and processes.
  • Work with Process Engineers to implement process improvements.
  • Assist in production tool maintenance, improvements and corrective actions.
  • Identify and report safety issues to proper channels
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

  • Associate Degree in Industrial Technology or related
  • 3 years of directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 2 years of additional relevant industrial experience preferred
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial processes.
  • Knowledge in both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Detailed and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; ability to gather and analyze data and information and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to work with associates of all levels including managers effectively and respectfully, engineers, machine operators, quality technicians, line supervisors, and maintenance technicians.
  • Strong computer skills including spreadsheet and desktop programs required.
  • Ability to use mechanical and electrical measuring equipment (ex. micrometers, calipers, multi-meter).
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles preferred.
  • Knowledge of mill tooling preferred but not required.
  • Strong mechanical proficiency required.
  • Regular attendance required; overtime may be required, based on business needs.
  • Willingness and ability to work any shift, including weekends, is required for this position.
