Job description

Cryo-Cell is seeking aCell Processing Technicianto join the lab team. Key responsibilities are to perform stem cell isolation from cord blood and cord tissue processing. Familiarity or proficiency in blood and tissue processing, cryopreservation, flow cytometry, cell quantification and ABO typing is preferred. Knowledge of aseptic technique and clean room protocols is a plus. Familiarity with standard data analysis software and the ability to track results and formulate reports according to established policies and procedures is required. In addition, the incumbent will assist with receipt of supplies and reagents, quality control, maintenance of laboratory and equipment. Responsible for understanding and abiding by all applicable cGTP and cGMP regulations; AABB, FACT and FDA guidelines. This position reports to the Laboratory Manager.
Duties:
  • Performing cord blood and cord tissue processing, cryopreservation, and formulating reports according to established policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining appropriate records and documentation within the LIS to ensure testing accuracy and reliability.
  • Responsible for understanding and abiding by all applicable FACT and AABB standards, OSHA, cGTP, cGMP regulations and applicable guidelines as set forth by the FDA.
  • Work in a biosafety level-2 (BSL-2) work environment
  • Assisting in the receiving of specimens and set up for processing. Assistance with receipt of supplies and reagents.
  • Performing quality control and maintenance of laboratory equipment and determining acceptability or performing appropriate corrective action.
  • Performing additional duties as needed and/or assigned.
  • Adhere to company's total quality management program into daily operations.
  • Review and adhere to standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Maintain donor, client, and employee confidentiality
  • Perform proficiency testing and participates in competency assessments
