Job Summary:ย ย 

Reporting to the Chief Development Engineer, the Process Engineer II will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting manufacturing processes with a focus on quality, efficiency, and repeatability. The successful candidate will play a key role in setting the process, specifying equipment, establishing process controls, and training production staff. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on role on the production floor, solving problems in real-time, and learning by doing.ย ย 


Key Responsibilities:ย 


Supplier Quality Managementย 

  • Select and qualify vendors for components.ย  Serve as technical expert on supplier communications for product design.ย  Collaborate with suppliers providing support for initial quality issues on sourced components with root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Product designย 

  • Design, develop, and optimize electro-chemical capacitor components.ย  Assist product development engineer with the introduction, development, and implementation of new or modified processes to support new product introduction.ย 

Process Developmentย 

  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes, equipment/tooling workflow, and process parameters to meet production and quality goals. ย Track and analyze production data to identify trends or areas for improvement. ย Conduct continuous improvement projects.ย  Conduct process development for new product introduction.ย  Ensure processes follow established safety and quality guidelines. ย Lead development projects for manufacturing processes.ย 


Equipment and Test Development

  • Assist facility/equipment engineers with equipment and test requirements.ย 


Set Process Controls and Proceduresย 

  • Establish and document robust process control plans, process flow diagrams, operating procedures, and standard work instructions to ensure consistent quality and throughput. ย Implement process controls. ย Conduct failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA).ย 


Train Operatorsย 

  • Develop and deliver standard operating procedures/work instructions, job safety analyses, and hands-on instructions for operators and technicians to ensure proper understanding and execution of manufacturing processes.ย 


Support Operations and Qualityย 

  • Provide support as a subject matter expert for any operational or quality issues in production.ย  Support root cause analysis and corrective actions.ย 
  • Additional duties as assignedย ย 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:ย 

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, other related Science/Engineering, or commensurate experience.ย 
  • 4+ years of experience in an engineering role.ย 
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, process control, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).ย 
  • Ability to create detailed process documentation and training materials.ย 
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.ย 
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., Defense industry, medical devices, automotive, electronics) is a plus.ย 
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.ย 
  • Possess a collaborative team-oriented mindset and personality with a hands-on can-do attitude.ย 
  • General knowledge of manufacturing is preferred.ย ย 
  • Must be considered a U.S. Person eligible to work in the United Statesย 

ย WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:ย
