Are you passionate and eager to learn about Human Resources? EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 80,000 people through 100 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a dedicated part time Recruitment Assistant with in the Human Resources Department.
  • Wage: $22 per hour
  • Schedule: 28 Hours per week - Hybrid schedule of 2 days in office.
  • Location: 99 Quentin Roosevelt Blvd Suite 200 in Garden City, NY

Primary Purpose of Job:
Engage in learning & understanding the functions of HR and Recruitment within the Human Resources Department.
Measurable Objectives:
  1. To assist the HR Department in handling administrative tasks pertaining to Recruitment
  2. Maintaining and organizing records and personnel files.
  3. Preparing for recruitment needs and efforts.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with recruiting efforts, job fair, and marketing events.
    1. Assisting in sourcing candidates using recruiting tools such as Indeed, handshake and social media platforms.
    2. Assisting Recruitment Manager in the preparation and attendance of job fairs.
    3. Review applications/ resumes and assess who should move on to screening based on resume and pre-interview questions.
    4. Screen candidates via a live or virtual interview and decide as to which candidates move on to second-round interviews.
    5. Update databases and related channels for sourcing candidates.
  2. Assist with pre-hire onboarding process:
    1. Assist with conducting pre-employment checks.
    2. Gather candidate paperwork e-filing into digital employee files.
    3. Prepare new hire orientation packets.
    4. Prepare onboarding kits (stationary, t-shirts, company swag)
    5. Assisting Onboarding Manager during new hire orientation.
  3. Gaining exposure and experience with HRIS system.
  4. Support HR department in assisting with clerical workload as needed.
  5. Perform all other relevant duties as determined by Supervision and EAC NETWORK Administration.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
  1. Some knowledge of computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, and email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments a big plus.
  2. Must have pleasant phone manner and good interpersonal skills.
  3. Excellent organizational skills.
  4. Able to conduct self in a professional manner.
