Job description

Job Overview:
The Assistant Manger's primary function is to back up the Store Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of a Lee's Discount Liquor retail store. The Assistant Manager aids in driving revenue, does receiving, helps to improve inventory turnover and transfers, assists the Store Manager in ensuring that store is opened and or closed properly, assists cashier and stockers to see that the store is kept neat and clean, shelves are properly stocked, provides exemplary customer service standards, aids in team building.
Reports to:
Store Manager
Responsibilities Include:
  • Drives revenue and customer counts
  • Ensures stores are visually enticing, neat, clean, organized and sale signs are displayed timely and accurate
  • Weekly store orders with Distributors as well as ensuring receiving is accurately processed.
  • Manages inventory, ensuring proper inventory levels, and executing proper shelf management
  • Identifies opportunities to grow the business and improve sales
  • Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and conduct weekly reconciliations of cash on hand
  • Manages refunds, voids, and discounts daily
  • Supervises team when Store Manager is out of store.
  • Follow procedures and controls, as well as corporate accounting procedures
  • Other Duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of Retail Experience
  • Liquor Experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent at problem solving
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Organized and detail orientated
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multitask and work well while meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize Microsoft applications, intermediate excel skills required.
  • Attention to detail and follow through on all action items
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and ensure timely completion of responsibilities.
