Job description

Innovation & Design Teacher - West Clermont Middle School 2026-2027

We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Innovation & Design Teacher to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in our students. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and design thinking. This role involves developing and delivering engaging lessons that encourage students to explore, ideate, prototype, and iterate on solutions to real-world problems. Courses will be aligned with relevant Ohio educational standards and Ohio's career technical education standards for pathways in Engineering Technology & Robotics.

Courses taught will include:

7th Grade: Build It  In this course, students unleash their imagination and bring their ideas to life through the art of building.  This course is all about exploring the joy of construction, design thinking, and turning dreams into tangible creations. Students engage in a dynamic experience where they not only learn the fundamentals of building but also develop critical thinking, teamwork, and creative problem-solving skills.  Get ready to unleash your creativity and construct wonders that will leave a lasting impact!

8th Grade: Design Lab In this course, students will become creative problem-solvers as they design and build innovative solutions to real-world challenges. Using a combination of 3D printing technology and everyday materials, students will prototype, test, and bring their ideas to life. Whether crafting upcycled creations or engineering with advanced tools, students will develop critical thinking, collaboration, and hands-on design skills. This course invites students to turn ordinary objects into extraordinary inventions, proving that innovation can come from anywhere and anyone can be a maker.
