Job description

Direct Counsel is partnering with a highly respected, nationally recognized law firm seeking a Mid-Level Litigation Associate to join its growing Litigation Practice Group in Portland, Oregon. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 2–5 years of litigation experience who is interested in developing specialized expertise in trust and estate litigation while working alongside experienced practitioners in a collaborative and supportive environment.

The ideal candidate will have recent law firm litigation experience, strong writing and analytical skills, and a genuine interest in probate and trust disputes. Prior experience handling probate or trust litigation matters in Oregon courts is a plus, as is experience drafting estate planning or trust administration documents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct legal research and analysis and prepare pleadings, memoranda, motions, and other litigation documents.

  • Draft and review case-related documents and correspondence.

  • Attend court hearings and proceedings.

  • Manage matters from inception through resolution.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and supervising attorneys.

  • Develop expertise in probate, trust, and estate litigation matters.

Qualifications
