We are seeking a skilled and client-focused Trusts & Estates Attorney.
This role involves advising clients on estate planning strategies, drafting sophisticated planning documents, and assisting with estate and trust administration.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with clients and providing practical, customized guidance in a collaborative firm environment.
Key Responsibilities
Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives
Advise clients on estate planning strategies, wealth transfer, and tax-efficient planning
Handle probate and estate administration matters, including filings, asset distribution, and court proceedings
Assist with trust administration, including fiduciary guidance and compliance matters
Counsel high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners on succession planning
Communicate effectively with clients, financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals
Stay current on developments in Georgia probate law, federal and state tax laws, and estate planning strategies
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active membership in good standing with the Georgia Bar
2+ years of experience in trusts and estates law, including estate planning and administration
Strong understanding of Georgia probate procedures and estate planning techniques
Excellent drafting, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Client-focused approach with strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Experience advising high-net-worth clients
Knowledge of federal estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning
Portable book of business or established referral relationships
