Pro Therapy Services is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our onsite rehabilitation team in Torrance, California. In this full-time role, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality patient care, assisting licensed Physical Therapists in rehabilitative practices geared toward restoring physical function and improving patient mobility.

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work onsite in a hospital setting, where collaboration with an interdisciplinary team is essential. You will work within a state-of-the-art facility that is designed to accommodate a variety of rehabilitation therapies, making it a motivating and empowering environment for both patients and staff. The clinic operates primarily Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility required to accommodate the needs of our patients and the clinic's operational demands.

• Assist Physical Therapists in developing and executing individualized treatment plans tailored to enhance patients’ mobility, strength, and overall function.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities designed to alleviate pain and promote physical wellness.
• Educate patients and their families on body mechanics, exercise techniques, and home-exercise programs to continue their progress outside the clinic.
• Administer various therapeutic modalities—including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy—under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Document patient progress meticulously to track improvements in strength, range of motion, and functional abilities, contributing to ongoing treatment adjustments.
• Organize treatment areas, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are readily available and in good working order at all times.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals, including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Offer emotional support and motivation to your patients, fostering a positive relationship and encouraging their commitment to recovery.
• Maintain high standards of confidentiality, ensuring compliance with ethical guidelines and patient privacy regulations.

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Pro Therapy Services, you will work with a diverse patient population, including post-operative individuals, elderly patients seeking to improve mobility, children with developmental concerns, and athletes in rehabilitation. Your role will be pivotal in guiding these patients through their rehabilitation journeys, adapting interventions as needed based on their unique challenges and progress.

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program resulting in an Associate’s degree.
• Active state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Strong foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and the principles of physical therapy.
• Demonstrated proficiency in therapeutic modalities and interventions, with an ability to work closely with patients under the oversight of a Physical Therapist.
• Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients and the healthcare team.
• Compassionate approach to care, fostering a supportive environment that prioritizes patient recovery.
• Ability to adapt to a variety of patient needs and tailor treatments accordingly.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient treatment and progress.
• Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development in the field of physical therapy.

• Experience in a hospital or clinical rehabilitation setting, surpassing basic practicum requirements.
• Familiarity with electronic health records systems and documentation protocols.
• CPR and first aid certification are advantageous.
• Experience working with specific patient populations, such as geriatrics or pediatrics, is a plus.

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $50,000 to $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
