As a Physician Assistant, you will operate onsite in a dynamic setting where teamwork and communication are essential. The Cardiology Clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, allowing for immediate diagnostic and treatment resources at your disposal. You will work regular shifts from Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, providing a balanced work-life schedule while contributing significantly to patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough physical and mental assessments of patients, utilizing comprehensive and problem-focused examinations to inform medical decision-making.
  • Order, evaluate, and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic tools to assess healthcare needs and develop treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and other interventions, ensuring adherence to best practices for safety and effectiveness while aligning with approved healthcare protocols.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to patient needs, regularly assessing and modifying these plans as necessary.
  • Provide counseling to patients and families, addressing queries about medical conditions, prescribed treatments, nutritional guidance, and health promotion strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting treatment plans, patient interactions, and ongoing assessments, while initiating referrals for complex cases beyond your expertise.
  • Engage in consultative services addressing specialized cardiology-related conditions, addressing various issues that may arise in inpatient or emergency care situations.
  • Perform specific invasive procedures in accordance with your competencies and under the supervision of attending physicians, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times.
  • Adapt to the department's coverage needs, which may involve working outside of regular hours as required to ensure continuous patient care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our Physician Assistant will work primarily with patients enrolled in our Cardiology Clinic, which serves a diverse population, including individuals dealing with chronic heart conditions, acute cardiac events, and preventive cardiovascular health. The ideal candidate will possess the sensitivity and understanding needed to approach cases with a holistic perspective, considering the physical and mental aspects of cardiac patients, many of whom may be managing multiple comorbidities.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Must hold an active Physician Assistant license issued by the state of Kansas.
