Description
Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. was established in 1965 with a mission to combat poverty and improve the quality of life for low-income individuals and families in Steuben and Yates counties. Over the years, the organization has evolved to meet the changing needs of the community. The agency's philosophy in addressing poverty has also evolved, incorporating evidence-based practices and holistic approaches to better serve the community.
This open position is for 10-months working with children within our Head Start Program.
Description
  • Assist in advancing physical and intellectual competence.
  • Work collaboratively with the classroom team to implement developmentally appropriate individualized strategies and accommodations outlined in the child's education plans (IFSP/IEP or behavior support plans).
  • Support the child's engagement, independence, and skill development during classroom activities
  • Assist with data collection, observation notes, and documentation related to the child's goals, progress, and behaviors.

Ideal skills
  • Strong organizational and basic math skills.
  • Communication and language skills to comprehend documents and other correspondence.
  • Strong computer skills with basic knowledge of Excel Microsoft office and other office equipment such as copier, scanner, fax etc...
  • Ability to interact with customers from a variety of backgrounds and with different levels of management.

Job Requirement
Education requirements High school diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years related work experience.
