Position Title: Tools Developer/Maintainer - Senior (#2078) Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI Locations: Washington Metro Area or Huntsville, AL Position Description: The Senior-level Tools Developer/Maintainer will establish and guide others in applying relevant and meaningful criteria, such as comparing features and benefits, to evaluate and provide analysis to potential tools, technology, and software to consider for automation opportunities. The goal is to develop tools for executing in a more agile and efficient manner. This includes forecasting future technology, architecture, and developing tools in support of systems engineering processes. These tool(s) will be hosted leveraging dedicated cloud and container environments. Key Duties: * Assess and support integration of tools into the NGA IT unclassified and classified environments. * Direct preparation of required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation. * Support and maintain applications, databases, and their underlying platforms (i.e., Windows, Linux) on classified and unclassified cloud environments. * Plan and execute the migration of the various engineering tools into the cloud per NGA policy and government guidance. * Follow established processes and completes the appropriate documentation to ensure systems and applications migrated into the cloud achieve ATO. * Oversee activities to maintain the Virtual Private Cloud environments in RedHat OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS/C2S or similar cloud-based environments. * Install, maintain, configure, backup, troubleshoot and ensure security of virtual servers and applications for unclassified and classified operations supporting Agency foundational engineering services. * Responsible for monitoring and providing recommendations for capacity management, system utilization, storage planning, and database performance. * Manage and provide cloud hosting cost impact analysis for planning purposes and monitor burn rates using the cloud estimation tools approved by the Government. * Guide the expertise in the implementation, integration, and maintenance of tools to include ServiceNow, DOORS Next Gen, System Architecture, etc. to ensure data integration and process automation. Required Qualifications: * Working knowledge of OpenShift, Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services, or similar cloud infrastructures and services. * Working knowledge of Windows or Linux System administration, software installation and configuration, and system performance monitoring and tuning. * Experience supporting IT security activities including maintaining STIG compliance, reviewing and mitigating IAVA security scan reports and, provide/maintain documentation supporting Authorization to Test (ATT) and operate (ATO). * Development/maintaining documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure. * Supporting regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures. * Support troubleshooting and ensure incidents are identified and resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, clearance, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
