Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse Emergency Department Profession: RN Specialty: RN Registered / Licensed - Inpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Less than 1 year experience with direct patient care preferred License: RN - Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support TNCC - Trauma Nurse Core Course ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Must-Have: Ability to read, write, and speak English. Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with customer service proficiency. Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a decisive and respectful manner. Excellent time management skills. Ability to use evidence and analytical skills in nursing practice, along with strong critical thinking abilities.

Description: The RN Clinical Nurse Emergency Department is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders. The practice framework is supported through a Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the organizational values. It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the local Professional Nurse Practice Act. They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association. As part of the patient services team, they are expected to support service excellence goals. Core responsibilities include performing the Nursing Process in clinical care using evidence-based practice. They provide relationship-based patient-centered care consistent with specific population characteristics. The RN always partners with patients and significant others, utilizing appropriate communication methods. They practice using current clinical practice standards and ensure safe quality patient care through documentation. Teamwork and collaboration are essential, as they develop effective interdisciplinary communications. Participation and support in performance improvement initiatives are encouraged. They complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education. They may serve as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses and staff members. The RN promotes evidence-based practice and nursing research. They participate in data collection and engage in decision-making processes regarding patient care products. The RN proactively plans for patient care across the care continuum. Participation in the development of protocols to achieve best practice outcomes is expected. Compliance with all policies, standards, and clinical competencies is mandatory. Other duties may be assigned as required.
