As a Private Lifeguard, your day-to-day responsibilities often include supervising clients during swimming sessions, proactively assessing and managing pool or beachfront safety risks, and responding immediately to any emergencies or incidents. You may also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety standards of aquatic facilities or equipment. Strong communication with clients and, when applicable, with household staff or event coordinators is common to ensure seamless protection. Flexibility is important, as your schedule and environment may change based on client needs or special occasions.
A Private Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of individuals at private pools, beaches, or events. They monitor swimmers, enforce safety rules, and perform rescues or first aid if needed. Unlike public lifeguards, they may work for individuals, families, or private organizations. Their duties can also include maintaining pool equipment and providing personalized safety supervision.
To thrive as a Private Lifeguard, you need expert swimming ability, strong surveillance skills, and proficiency in rescue techniques, usually supported by a current lifeguard certification such as Red Cross or equivalent. Familiarity with emergency equipment, CPR/AED certification, and knowledge of water safety protocols are essential technical requirements. Excellent communication, discretion, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are standout soft skills for this role. These abilities are vital to ensure the safety and privacy of clients in various private and sometimes non-traditional aquatic settings.

Summary:
Ensures the safety of all members using the Meadowmont Wellness Center aquatics facility. Maintains equipment and cleanliness of the facility.
Responsibilities:
1. Answers questions and responds to requests from members regarding aquatics facility and services
2. Maintains the cleanliness of the swimming pool by completing tasks as outlined in the daily cleaning checklist, vacuuming the pool bottom, cleaning gutters, eliminating puddles on the pool deck and picking up any trash. Ensures the pool and whirlpool are maintained at the proper temperatures and depth, chlorine and pH levels.
3. Monitors all users of the pool to ensure safety and prevent drowning. When necessary, administers first aid, perform a water rescue, and/or administer CPR if necessary. Enforces all pool rules, health regulations and Center policies
