Job description

A private family in Pasadena is seeking an experienced and dependable Houseman / Driver to support a family of six, consisting of a couple and four school-aged children.
The family resides on a 2.5-acre private property with an approximately 11,000-square-foot main residence and additional detached structures, including a private movie theater.
This is a hands-on position consisting of approximately 80% Houseman responsibilities and 20% driving responsibilities. While the majority of the day-to-day duties will focus on the property, professional driving experience is one of the most important requirements for this position.
The successful candidate must be a highly experienced and safe driver who is comfortable operating larger luxury vehicles. The family owns a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van, and the candidate must have experience and be confident safely driving a Sprinter Van or similar-sized vehicle.
The Houseman / Driver will work alongside another Houseman and must be comfortable working as part of an established household team.
Schedule
This is a full-time, flexible position. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM; however, a later start and late evening hours may be required based on the family's driving needs, events, and appointments. Weekend flexibility is also required as needed. Flexibility with the schedule is essential.
Responsibilities;
  • Maintain the grounds and exterior areas to a clean, polished, resort-level standard.
  • Ensure patios, walkways, entrances, and exterior living areas remain clean and well maintained.
  • Assist with the general upkeep of the main residence and additional structures.
  • Perform small household repairs and minor maintenance as needed.
  • Identify maintenance concerns and address or report issues promptly.
  • Coordinate and manage household vendors and service providers as needed.
  • Assist with household projects and property-related tasks.
  • Run household and family errands as required.
  • Assist with receiving deliveries and coordinating access for vendors and contractors.
  • Work collaboratively with the other Houseman and household staff.
  • Maintain the family's privacy, confidentiality, and discretion at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Safely transport the principals and family members to appointments, events, business meetings, school-related activities, and other destinations.
  • Professionally operate the family's Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van and other household vehicles.
  • Provide safe, discreet, and reliable transportation for the family.
  • Plan routes and monitor traffic to ensure timely arrivals.
  • Maintain a professional, calm, and safety-conscious driving manner at all times.
  • Ensure household vehicles are clean, fueled, and ready for use.
  • Monitor basic vehicle maintenance and coordinate servicing when required.
  • Assist with loading and unloading luggage, packages, and personal belongings when needed.

Candidate Requirements:
  • An experienced and highly safety-conscious driver
  • Professional driving experience is a priority for this position.
