Job Description & Summary

A career in our PwC Private's Tax practice will provide you with the opportunity to help private companies to resolve their tax issues and to help them manage their risks to achieve long-term success. You will advise clients on their local tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant, and will help them manage their tax obligations. You will focus on reviewing personal trust and corporate income tax returns, and other tax reporting forms.
Our PwC Private teams help entrepreneurs, private business owners and family companies manage their financial and tax obligations and risks at every stage, in a way that fits the needs of their business in today's changing global landscape.

As a Private Tax Senior Manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Cut through ambiguity and turn unstructured problems into clear plans

  • Coach, develop, retain, and mentor junior tax professionals; be the mentor people trust

  • Switch seamlessly between big-picture strategy and precision-level detail

  • Anticipate stakeholder needs and shape, test, and discuss proactive solutions

  • Contribute deep technical tax knowledge to every engagement

  • Fuse human insight with technology to deliver smarter, faster results

  • Navigate and lead across diverse teams, industries, and complex engagements

  • Initiate and lead candid conversations with teams, clients, and stakeholders to build trust and momentum

  • Manage the efficient delivery to tax consulting and compliance engagements to our clients

  • Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct

Experiences and skills you'll use to solve

  • Hold a Canadian CPA (or CA/other relevant designation) or a Master's in Tax and have completed Levels I-III of the CPA In-Depth Tax Course as an asset.

  • Demonstrate expertise in corporate tax, ideally focused on private corporations, and turn complex rules into clear, actionable strategies.

  • Manage, develop, retain, and mentor junior tax professionals while building high-trust, high-performance teams.

  • Experience in public accounting is an asset, understanding engagement cadence, client dynamics, and how to elevate service.

  • Thrive under pressure by prioritizing effectively, juggling multiple assignments, and staying organized without sacrificing quality.

  • Show an entrepreneurial and tech-curious mindset, committed to upskilling for a digital world and open to new tools and ways of working.

  • Apply exceptional problem-solving and communication skills to deliver clarity and impact in conversations, writing, and presentations.

The salary range for this position is $128,900 - $178,900.The posted salary rangerepresentsthe expected hiring range for PwC locations in major citycentres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary isdeterminedby your skills, experience,qualificationsand work location.In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements.
