SRS Field Technician- Prism Electric

Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring a safe environment at all jobsites, keeping the site clean and organized, and wearing all required PPE.
  • Adhering to NEC requirements and applicable codes.
  • Representing Prism Electric, Inc. professionally by providing excellent customer service in all client-facing situations.
  • Performing infrared thermography surveys on electrical distribution systems, panels, switchgear, and connections to identify heat anomalies and potential failure points.
  • Conducting power quality metering and analysis - including harmonic distortion, voltage sags/swells, and load profiling - and interpreting results for client reporting.
  • Troubleshooting a wide variety of commercial and manufacturing electrical systems.
  • Troubleshooting and installation of motor control systems.
  • Commercial and light industrial installations.
  • Generator and UPS installations.
  • Lighting installations.
  • Preparing and delivering clear, professional diagnostic reports to clients based on survey findings.

Requirements:
  • State of Texas Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
  • Minimum of three years' experience working in a commercial or industrial service setting.
  • Texas Driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Strong diagnostic and analytical mindset - this role goes beyond installations and into the "why" of electrical problems.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience with infrared thermography - familiarity with FLIR or similar thermal imaging cameras.
  • Experience with power quality analyzers (Fluke, Dranetz, or equivalent) and interpreting power quality data.
  • Thermography certification (Level I or Level II) from an accredited program (preferred, not required).
  • Experience writing or contributing to diagnostic/inspection reports for clients.
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance programs or reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) concepts.

The job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain. Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses always), respirator when required. Able to work 8 -10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts. Includes crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, able to routinely lift heavy objects more than 50 pounds and pushing and pulling of objects is required. Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job
