Advancement Communications Intern
Job Description:
The Advancement Communications Intern will engage in hands-on efforts to support the Office of University Advancement's program and fund development initiatives, fundraising projects and related communications initiatives. This is a 10-12 hour per week position for the Spring 2026 semester. Weekly schedule and start and end dates are flexible. The intern will work closely with the Director of Advancement Communications to support projects for alumni and donor engagement.
What you will gain from this experience:
-Competencies associated with working in higher education fundraising in a collaborative office environment;
-Deeper understanding of program and fund development and fundraising in higher education;
-Hands-on experience in efforts to increase donor engagement through digital and print communications;
-Project management and communications experience.
Responsibilities may include:
-Support program development and fundraising efforts
-Develop materials and design graphics for fundraising marketing campaigns
-Project management including data recording and analysis
-Other duties as assigned
Primary projects:
-Assist with design of Spring direct mail appeal
-Design/Create print and digital content for social media and email campaigns
-Assist with content development for crowdfunding campaigns
Requirements:
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
-Outstanding writing and editing skills
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and problem-solve
-Ability to meet deadlines
-A high level of integrity and a positive attitude
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
-Graphic arts and digital editing skills are a plus.
