Job Summary
We are seeking a Printing Press Operator to join our afternoon team! As a Printing Press Operator on the team, you will be responsible for incoming printing jobs, determining the best way to go about printing them, and setting up the machines, equipment, and systems to make it happen. You may also have to troubleshoot small issues or problems with the machines and equipment, do routine maintenance, and assist others on the team to ensure a job gets completed on time. The ideal candidate has some previous experience with working on a Mark Andy 2200 or Nilpeter FA machine, works well within a team environment, and has critical thinking and problem-solving skills. 

Responsibilities 
  • Set up and operate a flexographic printing press to print designs or lettering on rolls of flexible plastic film and paper.
  • Read and follow job order; mount specified rubber plate, install die into press, install cylinder on shaft and secure assembly in bed of press
  • Fill ink trays with assigned inks to produce desired colors
  • Move levers to engage dye rolls, adjusting position of cylinder to print two or more colors
  • Mount material roll onto printing press using hydraulic mount jack
  • Start press, adjusting speed, tension and alignment of printing plate as necessary. Must be attentive at all time when press is in operation
  • Check for printing consistency
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues with the equipment
  • On occasion may have to clean plates, cylinder and dye fonts using solvent. May also need to lubricate press as needed if assistant is not available
  • Work closely with the rest of the team to ensure everyone is on the same page, and work is getting done in a timely manner
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment at all times

Physical Requirements:
  • Job includes; walking, squatting, lifting and stnading for prolonged periods of time
  • Manual agility and good eyesight are also needed
