Job Description
Operates Gravure Press to produce "Best In Class" packaging for domestic and international use.
Responsibilities:
Operates Press to develop end-result printed material in accordance with customer specifications:
• Operate Press, troubleshoot and monitors operation.
• Prepares Press by performing a variety of tasks to produce a consistent, high quality product by precise control of feeding, adjusting color to match customer's goals, register and clean product to exceed the customer's expectations. Press Operator should be knowledgeable of all the functions of the Offset Press.
• By performing a variety of make ready tasks utilizing quick and easy settings for high productivity and precision operations, resolves any defects and adjustments to produce a high quality product.
• Works with General Technicians working on equipment.
• Makes adjustments, clears jams, while processing product, maintaining speed and quality.
• Ensures efficient and rapid make ready, with unloading and loading.
QUALITY:
Ensure quality of jobs completed by reviewing for quality and accuracy. Makes sure jobs are complete and error free.
• Ensures finished product exceeds customer expectations.
• Ensure all checklists are completed.
• Support and communicate all ISO standards and quality objectives to the Press Team.
EHS AND CLEAN:
Ensures complete adherence and compliance to the EHS and Clean policies. Assists team members in maintaining clean and safe environment.
• Maintains and follows all company policies and procedures for safety, personal protection and hazard materials/waste handling according to established guidelines.
• Follows all personal protection procedures by use of appropriate personal protective equipment at all times while in designated areas and specific tasks requiring the use of PPE.
• Follows established procedures and guidelines for the handling and disposal of all hazardous materials/waste.
• Maintains and wears proper uniform according to company policy.
• Uses Company provided safety lifting equipment, i.e., hoist, jacks, vacuum manipulators, etc.
• On a regular basis, examines work areas to keep them in a safe and neat condition.
• Properly stores and arranges work area to maintain cleanliness and safe environment following all safety rules and regulations for grounding, storage, spill clean-up, etc.
• Effectively demonstrates the ability to maintain work area in a safe and proper working order coaching Crew in safe work practices.
COMMUNICATIONS:
Interacts with the team and co-workers in a way that promotes respect, encourages cooperation and contributes to excellent performance.
• Communicates accurate information to all team members in a
professional and courteous manner that conveys a willingness to assist.
• Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately.

Requirements:
• High School diploma (or GED).
• Minimum of 3 years of equipment operation.
Must have interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must possess basic computer skills and mathematical skills necessary to compute percentages, weights and measures.
Physical Demands:
• This position requires prolonged periods of standing, stooping, bending and/or reaching, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, hearing and speaking.
• Frequent lifting in excess of 60 lbs is required.
• Must be able to hold, touch, feel and manipulate with hands product and equipment in a safe manner. Manual dexterity is required.
• Use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus as well as good eye-hand coordination.
• Must be able to rotate shifts and be available to work in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week when necessary to meet customer product needs.
