Senior Flexographic Press Operator

????️ Full-Time | Wide Web Flexographic Printing - PCMC/W&H Press Experience Required

PPC is seeking an experienced Senior Flexographic Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for safely operating, setting up, and maintaining wide web flexographic printing presses while leading press assistants and supporting overall production efficiency, quality, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical printing knowledge, leadership ability, and a commitment to producing high-quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in driving productivity, minimizing waste, and ensuring customer satisfaction through consistent press performance and print quality.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate and set up wide web flexographic printing presses
  • Read and follow daily production schedules to meet production demands and customer deadlines
  • Review customer orders, artwork, and job specifications to ensure accurate production setup
  • Record production activities, setup information, downtime, and run conditions accurately
  • Track materials and production data using Axapta, shop floor systems, and production reports
  • Accurately scan and process materials entering and exiting the press
  • Optimize press setup and operation to minimize waste and maximize efficiency
  • Monitor print quality throughout production runs using AVT defect detection systems and quality control tools
  • Identify and flag defects, splices, and print issues while maintaining accurate documentation
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the press and surrounding work area
  • Troubleshoot and report mechanical or operational issues promptly
  • Stage upcoming jobs and coordinate workflow with press assistants
  • Train, mentor, and direct press assistants and other team members as needed
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, efficiency, and waste reduction
  • Follow all company safety, GMP, and quality procedures
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 5 years of wide web flexographic printing experience required
  • Experience on PCMC and W&H Presses required
  • Strong understanding of flexographic printing processes and print quality standards
  • Ability to read and interpret:
    • Artwork
    • Product layout sheets (PLS)
    • Work orders
    • Color separations
    • Color master documentation
  • Experience using spectro densitometers and print quality measurement tools
  • Understanding of digital print workflows and production systems
  • Ability to train and lead employees in all press-related functions
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while supporting team goals
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with AVT defect detection systems
  • Experience with Axapta or similar ERP/shop floor systems
  • Experience leading or mentoring press assistants and operators
  • Strong knowledge of color management and print consistency
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts
  • Ability to lift and handle materials, sleeves, plates, and tools as required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules based on production demands
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment, moving machinery, inks, and solvents in a production environment
