In addition, Palmetto Bluff has an extensive nature preserve, walking trails, retail shopping, art gallery, and a vibrant village, all which pay homage to the region’s rich heritage.

Job Summary:

The Operations & Events Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations within the club's shop, managing front desk staff, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring that the shop environment reflects the club's high standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, clear and concise communication abilities, and the capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.

The position plays a key role in shaping the overall experience for our members, guests, and staff. As a vital part of our team, this role requires someone who is highly organized, customer-focused, and passionate about delivering exceptional service. The ideal candidate will not only manage day-to-day operations efficiently but will also collaborate with the management team and staff to elevate our standards. With a dedication to improving the experience within the club, the Supervisor will help create a welcoming and seamless environment that enhances the quality of our services for all involved.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervise and manage the daily operations of the shop, including operational standards, customer service, sales, and inventory control.
  • Lead, train, and mentor the front desk staff team, ensuring that all staff are knowledgeable and provide exceptional service.
  • Cover front desk shifts as needed and actively assist in the shop during busy periods, providing hands-on support to ensure smooth operations.
  • Keep up-to-date information regarding play schedules, clinic/lesson schedules, pricing, and events.
  • Manage purchasing and inventory of office and operational supplies for the Racquet Club.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for member inquiries, booking confirmations, special requests, resort groups. and billing-related questions.
  • Manage all racquet club communications, including weekly, monthly, and bi-monthly distributions, and member updates.
  • Support operational execution and coordination for club events,tournaments, socials, and member experiences.
  • Work closely with the Club Events team to ensure consistency and quality execution for all racquet club events.
  • Manage departmental BEO requests and event-related P&L tracking.
  • Assist with the planning and development of the annual calendar of holiday programming and special events.
  • Process expense reports, financial tracking, and closing reports in accordance with current standards.
  • Maintain the organization of the shop merchandise, adjust displays, stock, and rotate stock.
  • Assist in physical inventory counts as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the shop, ensuring it is presentable at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to greet guests and members in a friendly, gracious, and cordial manner.
  • Retail experience preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in computer-based reservations, calendar, and POS transactions.
  • Hospitality experience in a resort or club environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of tennis, pickleball, croquet, and bocce preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluency in English.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work tasks are performed both indoors and outdoors.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments on a timely basis.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Talking and listening occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and subordinates.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, photocopiers, dolly, and other office equipment as needed.
