Job Description SummaryReporting to the Manufacturing Shop Operations manager (MSO), the Production Supervisor (PS) will be responsible for the operational performance of his/her hourly team. In this role, the production supervisor will help prepare and follow the daily operation schedule, meet day-to-day objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action by both short and long-term planning. Accountable for the performance of the production staff while ensuring business goals are met. Production supervisor will have direct reports. Job Description

Essential Responsibilities •

- Execute and meet the daily production schedule. Assist the manufacturing shop floor manager to align manpower requirements with respect to the customer demand versus resource availability.

- Lead the daily production meeting (Flash 5), track performance metrics, communicate their status, and take ownership of missed goals by implementing countermeasures.

• Manage production employee requirements, including performance appraisals.

• Improve the operations KPIs - SQDCC; Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Cash; through daily management. Communicate and enforce plant policies in the manufacturing area.

• Drive Lean culture in the production area. Implement Lean actions to improve the labor productivity/utilization and customer experience.

• Assist in the development of operating procedures aligned with the business's SQDCC goals, and provide suggestions and improvements as needed.

• Collaborate with the cross functional groups to resolve manufacturing related issues.

• Ensure that ERP information is up-to-date at all times, including job completion, inventory, and variances, as well as customer-facing information such as SSDs and PDs.

• Process, print, and post manufacturing documentation, order certificates, and shipping labels.

• Actively participate in material planning meetings. Adjust manufacturing execution based on material availability, priorities, and expedited requests.

• Ensure production employees are working diligently to meet production goals by showcasing knowledge and skills to the employees, giving them clear direction on how to complete tasks, motivating them, answering questions, and providing support when needed.

• Train and develop the skills of production employees (GE & contractors) and educate them on business strategy and metrics.

• Resolve conflict and handle challenging interpersonal situations in a professional and effective manner, promoting a positive and productive work environment for hourly employees.

• Lead by example to improve team’s morale. Step-up to lead the operation in the absence of the direct manager.

• Work outside of weekday production shift to meet short term business requirements

Qualification / Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college OR Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

• Proven track record to deliver results.

• Effectively demonstrate leadership behavior skills and motivate employees.

• At least 3 years of supply chain experience.

• Excellent communicator, decision-maker, collaborative.

• Ability to work effectively on a team and serve as a positive change agent

• Advanced trouble shooting and multi-tasking skills.

• Planning & organizational skills.

• Flexibility to support second shift and other shifts as business needs require.
