South Bay Solutions is a high-precision machine shop, making parts for semiconductor, medical devices, and advanced tech hardware. Our tolerances are measured in microns, our equipment is top-of-the-line, and our team is passionate about quality craftsmanship.

Summary

This position requires candidate to produce machined parts per print by setting up and operating a CNC Lathe machine, maintaining quality, safety standards and record keeping. This position requires strong CNC experience involving setting up and operating lathes. Must be able to work in a fast-paced & challenging environment.

Required Skills
  • Minimum 5-7 years of Lathe setup experience.
  • Work with minimal supervision to resolve issues.
  • Must be able to setup from program notes & shop traveler.
  • Must be able to read & interpret prints, including GD&T.
  • Firm understanding of CNC programming, including G/M codes & editing.
  • Inspect own parts with attention to detail.
  • Proficient with inspection tools & methods.
  • Communicate effectively within the team, different shifts, & management.
Responsibilities
  • Must produce operator friendly, quality set-up’s which meet print requirements.
  • Work efficiently & diligently to complete set-up’s within allotted time.
  • Review and recommend any changes to production tooling.
  • Assist others in resolving issues / problems when needed.
  • Report any manufacturing equipment deficiencies/problems to the Manager
  • Support and assist machine operators in maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe, efficient and clean work environment.
Education / Experience
  • High School diploma or GED required. Accredited Trade School and or Associate degree preferred.
  • At least 5 - 7 years of experience
Shift:
  • Swing: 2:30pm - 11:05pm
