This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and detail oriented candidate with strong customer service skills and an interest in digital printing and production. Training will be provided and an opportunity for transition to full-time benefited employment for the right candidate.
Position Purpose
Supports various print and mail projects from inception to completion. Operates various types of digital printers and mailroom equipment such as addressers, inserters, tabbers and station stuffers. Assists with set up, operation and maintenance of bindery equipment, digital printing and mailing equipment. Performs associated administrative tasks including data entry. Communicates both orally and in writing with the Dartmouth community, maintaining a professional demeanor and exercising tact and discretion.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum two years of administrative experience in a business environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage a variety of projects concurrently.
  • High degree of accuracy, ability to work independently, an awareness of deadlines and confidentiality are also of critical importance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience with digital printers, print and mail specific software, operating various mailing, printing and bindery equipment.
  • Knowledge of print terminology, process, estimating, billing and invoicing and report generation for administrative management needs.

Project Management
  • Assists with print and mail projects. Under supervision, evaluates each job to determine eligibility for printing and/or postal discounts; assists customers to optimize printing and/or mailing dollars.
  • Liaises with College departments for printing and mailing projects.

Finishing Print and Mail
  • Learns use of the following equipment: MBO Folder, Four Station Inserter, Challenge Cutter and all book binding and laminating equipment.
  • Provides daily deliveries as needed.

Administrative
  • Assists with quality control checks in the process of preparing a print/mail job for delivery.
  • Using the DPMS Job Tracking Database, accurately records information on the physical job jacket as well as data entry into the database.

Print and Mail Project Preparation
  • Using industry specific software, prepares work for digital presses, offset press, letterpress and mailing devices.
