This is a high-impact role at the intersection of design strategy and execution, ideal for a handsโ€‘on creative professional who can both direct the vision and build the work.

The Graphic Design Manager plays a crucial role in establishing and leading the visual representation of the Juneau Construction Company brand. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of design strategy and execution and will report to the Vice President of Brand Strategy. This role is responsible for upholding Juneau's visual brand identity across all channels and deliverables, ensuring consistency and quality at every touchpoint.

Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelorโ€™s or associate degree in graphic design, fine art, or a related field
  • 4-6 years of prior experience in a fastโ€‘paced design role preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), video editing software, Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM/marketing platforms
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong design judgement and visual storytelling capability is required (please include a link or PDF with application)
  • Excellent time management, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering polished, highโ€‘quality work across all formats and deadlines
  • Broad understanding or genuine interest in learning about the construction industry
  • Alignment with Juneauโ€™s Core Values: People, Passion, Commitment, Fun

Duties and Responsibilities:
Creative Strategy & Brand Stewardship
  • Maintain and steward brand standards, style guides, and design systems that scale across the organization.
  • Work with Visual Media Manager to maintain and organize Juneau's digital asset library, ensuring photography, video, brand assets, logos, templates, and creative files are easily accessible and up to date.
  • Research and interpret design trends within the AEC industry and broader creative landscape, bringing fresh thinking to our visual expression.
  • Approach all creative work with a strategic mindset, understanding how each deliverable contributes to a larger brand narrative and corporate strategy.
  • Translate complex ideas into clear, compelling visual assets that resonate with clients, partners, and talent.

Content Design & Production
  • Lead end-to-end design of marketing materials, including signage, event materials, digital and social media assets, corporate communications, award submissions, and branded collateral.
  • Create highโ€‘impact proposals, interview decks, presentations, and pursuit materials that communicate complex ideas with clarity, strengthen Juneau's competitive position, and support winning new work.
  • Partner with Operations teams to create all jobsite signage and branded elements.
  • Design and develop branded templates for proposals, presentations, and reportsโ€”and train employees on how to use them to empower the broader team to produce onโ€‘brand content efficiently.
  • Design digital assets for web, email, and social media.
  • Collaborate with Visual Media Manager and marketing team on photo and video content for social media, project storytelling, corporate communications, and recruitment efforts.
  • Oversee the visual design and ongoing maintenance of the Juneau website, ensuring content is current, onโ€‘brand, and aligned with broader marketing and business goals.
  • Partner with Marketing + Brand Coordinator to develop Juneauโ€‘branded merchandise and swag, ensuring all items reflect Juneauโ€™s brand standards.
  • Manage creative workflows, timelines, and priorities across multiple concurrent projects in a deadlineโ€‘driven environment.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors including photographers, printers, and freelance designers as needed.
  • Contribute to the selection and management of creative tools, software, and production resources.

Job Expectations:
  • Position may require extended periods of time sitting and/or standing, talking both in person and over technological avenues, lifting up to 20 lbs. as needed.
  • Position may require availability for occasional local and outโ€‘ofโ€‘town travel (approximately 5%)
  • After six months, this role will follow a hybrid work model, requiring a regular inโ€‘office presence at least three days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week based on business needs.
  • Position requires tact and confidentiality, as the Graphic Design Manager is responsible for owning and updating sensitive information pertaining to the organization and its employees, as well as clients, trade partners, and other relevant parties.
