Marbles Kids Museum is a vibrant, nonprofit childrenโ€™s museum and IMAX Theatreย locatedย in the heart of downtown Raleigh. Marbles has been sparking imagination, discovery, and learning through play since opening its doors in 2007.ย Marblesย serves a diverse population of families, school groups, and community organizations through award-winning play-based exhibits, summer camps, IMAX documentaries, feature movies, andย special eventsย year-round. Today Marbles ranks among the top family destinations in North Carolina providing learning experiences for children with creative programs, and larger-than-life movies.ย ย 
The Opportunity
Are you a creative thinker with a passion for visual storytelling and brand design? Joinย Team Marblesย as a Graphic Design Intern and help bring the magic of play to life through compelling visuals.ย 

The Graphic Design Intern will support the creation of engaging print and digital assets that promote Marblesโ€™ exhibits, programs, events, andย mission. This internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative nonprofit environment, allowing the intern to strengthen design skills, build a professional portfolio, and gain real-world experience supporting a mission-driven organization.ย This is an unpaid internship.ย 
Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Create engaging designs that adhere to the Marbles brand identity and guidelines.

  • Collaborate with theย Graphicsย Teamย and other departmentsย toย support the creation ofย original designsโ€ฏthatย showcaseโ€ฏMarbles'ย brand and mission.ย 

  • Support the Graphics Teamย on internal graphic requests and projects.ย ย 

  • Assistย with the installation of graphics and signage fabrication as part of exhibits, events, and programming.ย 

  • Attend andย participateย inย Graphicย Team meetings.ย 

Ideal Experience and Skillsย 

  • Mustโ€ฏbe enrolled in a formal education class that requires an internship for academic credit.ย 

  • Excellent creative, verbal, and written communication skills.ย 

  • Experience working with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop is required.ย 

  • Experience workingย withย Creative Cloud Product preferred.ย 

  • Pursuing a degree in Graphic Design or a closely related field.ย 

Physical Demandsโ€ฏย 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.ย 

  • Role requires walking, standing, stooping, and bending.ย ย 

Scheduleย 

  • Availability to work weekdays between 9:00 AM โ€“ 5:00 PM.
