Job description

Cube Packaging Solutions is currently seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our team in Aurora, Ontario. This role is required to work 12-hour rotating continental shifts.

The Quality Technician is responsible for:

Following and complying with Cube Management System (CMS)

Supporting the Quality Management system

Ensuring that all shift staff are trained and understanding the quality standards that are to be met

Carrying out product inspection on packing duties

Job Responsibilities:

Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices, SOPs, Hygiene Policy and all QA programs through communication and training with production personnel

Support the Food Safety program

Conduct quality inspection of parts, processes and systems to ensure all procedures are followed and that parts meet the overall quality standards

Performs and monitors quality checks in Production to ensure defects do not occur.

Perform inspection on every two hours during the shift and record results on specified inspection sheets or related documents.

Required to maintain all measuring equipment in proper working order and appearance.

Ensure all incidents of non-conformance are recorded

Document inspection results in a clear, accurate, neat and timely manner

Assist in identifying and communicating product quality issues to Production Supervisor/Quality Coordinator or designate and complete daily QC report.

Carry out inspections of WIP products, identify accordingly in the production area, input inventory into ERP system, and print and apply barcode labels accordingly

Identify poor workmanship, material defects and incorrect packing of parts - notify appropriate personnel of manufacturing quality issues

Train Production Associates on product quality requirements

Required to maintain control of all non-conforming material, segregation, and completion of hold tags.

Review and assist with the development of SOPs in accordance with Quality System requirements

Support the NCR process and assist where necessary

Required to participate in all internal and external audits as needed.

Required to maintain good housekeeping (5S) principles surrounding the QA work station.

Hourly Rate: $23.00/hour

Shift: 12 Hour Rotating Continental Shifts

Requirements

Education/Experience

College Diploma related to Quality Assurance and relevant experience in a manufacturing environment

AIB or Food Safety Certification an asset

Must have ISO or TS experience

Knowledge of Statistical Process Control and ability to analyze data

Strong knowledge of quality inspection techniques and procedures

Basic knowledge of injection molding products and processes an asset

Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are required

Basic knowledge on ERP systems an asset

Other Job Requirements

Ability to read, write and understand English

Must have own reliable transportation

Able to work continental rotating shifts (day and night)

Must be able to lift up to 30lbs and stand for long periods of time

Must be able to distinguish between colours

Ability to handle multiple projects of competing priority and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Must have strong attention to detail.
