Position Description
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely fashion, be diligent in field procedures and maintain company standards at all times.
  • Supervise additional staff members assisting in survey assignments. Types of surveys performed: ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, Route Surveys, Topographic Surveys, Construction Staking and Transportation projects.
  • Adhere to QA/QC procedures and note taking. Follow instructions/work orders from project managers. Ensure all survey work is compliant with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
  • Proficiency with Trimble and Leica GPS, Trimble Robotic Total Station (S6), Trimble (TSC3) and TDS Ranger Data Collectors.
  • Construction layout, ability to read and comprehend Construction Plans
  • Participate in pre-survey planning meetings.
  • Gather field survey data through use of GPS.
  • Sets up, adjust and operate surveying equipment.
  • Prepare field notes.
  • Perform daily survey activities as assigned by Head of Crews.
  • Review, check and recheck field data and ensure proper precision and accuracy are maintained.
  • Identify hazardous situations and apply company safety procedures.
  • Keep track of timelines and budgets for projects and relay that information to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in development and training of staff.
  • Proficient with DOT Standards/Survey requirements.
  • Field Engineering.
