Raytheon's Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is seeking experienced Principal Systems Engineers interested in ocean engineering. Our Portsmouth, RI team primarily supports programs in the naval undersea and naval surface domains, including sensor systems, mine countermeasures, submarines, torpedoes, combat systems, and ship architecture/integration. Our engineers perform underwater acoustics analysis and tracking, develop and manage system requirements, integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer. We assemble our systems, test them in the lab or the field, analyze performance metrics, and ensure our products work seamlessly the first time and every time. This role is viewed as a subject matter expert within the discipline, tackling problems that are often difficult and highly complex. The position requires minimal oversight and involves coaching, reviewing work of team members. In this position, your technical expertise and ability to independently make informed decisions will be crucial in driving the success of complex projects. What You Will Do * Perform system performance evaluations and in-depth analysis to identify opportunities for new functionality and system enhancements.
* Contribute to the development of new procedures, processes, and standards to enhance team performance and project outcomes.
* Create/modify documentation in support of reviews associated with formal testing, which may include Test Readiness Review (TRR), Consent to Ship (CTS), Test Data Review (TDR) packages, and effectively communicate results to leadership and stakeholders.
* Demonstrate the ability to effectively multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Overcome obstacles by proactively identifying potential roadblocks, negotiating changes to ensure project success, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders to drive alignment and resolve conflicts.
* Travel, both domestic and international, to support customer events, with an expected travel requirement not exceeding 25%.
