Principal SiC Product Engineer

Job Title: Principal SiC Product Engineer
Job Location: Sunnyvale, CA (will help with relocation)
Compensation: $175K - $225K base plus bonus and RSUs
Requirements: Silicon Carbide (SiC), Wide Bandgap Power Devices, Product Engineering, NPI, Foundry Management, Reliability, Characterization
Position Overview
The Principal SiC Product Engineer will be a key member of the Wide Bandgap product line further enabling the successful transition of SiC products from realization to stable volume manufacturing. The successful candidate will work as a deeply technical liaison to both internal product and manufacturing teams as well as external SiC foundry and material supplier.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead SiC power products NPI: discrete, module, die sales
  • Ensure all NPI schedules and business gate requirements are met and on schedule
  • Assist in new product platform roadmap development and design
  • Oversee external foundry SPC integration and material supplier quality standards
  • Work with product engineering to build internal test/screening/qualification procedures specific for high reliability SiC products
  • Work with application engineering to drive SiC specific datasheet, application, and reliability testing strategies to ensure full compliance with AECQ and new JEDEC and customer requirements such as dynamic dv/dt, BPD, dynamic Vth, and diode surge

Qualifications

  • Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
  • 5-10+ years experience in SiC/GaN device or product engineering
  • Knowledge of power semiconductor qualification standards (JEDEC, AEC-Q101)
  • Familiar with power semiconductor test and assembly
  • Previous foundry experience
