Diesel Mechanic - Fleet Maintenance

A growing charter bus company in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team. We are looking for a dependable, hands-on technician who takes pride in keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and road-ready.

Responsibilities:

· Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on charter buses and other fleet vehicles

· Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and air brake systems

· Complete inspections and ensure vehicles meet DOT safety standards

· Maintain accurate repair and maintenance records

· Work efficiently to minimize vehicle downtime

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Required Tooling:

· Full professional-grade tool set, including advanced electrical/diagnostic tooling as required by the role.

· High proficiency with diagnostic software, scan tools, and service information systems.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of diesel mechanic experience
  • Valid Class B CDL required
  • Must provide your own tools
  • Experience with heavy-duty diesel engines and fleet maintenance
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team


Preferred Qualifications

· ASE Certifications

· Experience with Cummins, Allison, MCI, Prevost, or other heavy-duty bus manufacturers
