Job description

Ritter Cardiology is seeking a skilled and compassionate Cardiac Ultrasonographer (Echocardiographer) to join our growing outpatient private cardiology practice in Fairfax, Virginia. We are a family-owned, patient-focused practice dedicated to providing personalized cardiovascular care in a welcoming outpatient setting.

This is an excellent opportunity for a sonographer who enjoys working closely with physicians and patients in a collaborative private practice environment with a strong emphasis on quality care and preventive cardiology.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms independently
  • Perform vascular ultrasounds and arterial and venous studies
  • Perform carotid ultrasounds
  • Obtain accurate measurements and Doppler calculations
  • Prepare preliminary reports for physician interpretation
  • Ensure patient comfort and provide compassionate care throughout testing
  • Maintain echocardiography equipment and exam rooms
  • Assist with stress echocardiography as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR system
  • Follow ASE and practice protocols for image acquisition and quality standards

Qualifications

  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or RCS credential preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited cardiac ultrasound program
  • Prior echocardiography experience preferred (outpatient cardiology experience a plus)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced outpatient setting
  • Experience with stress echo and vascular imaging is a plus
