Prevail Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team. This full-time position focuses on providing critical mental health support to elderly clients through a telehealth platform. You'll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care strategies, ensuring that our elderly clients receive integrated support tailored to their specific circumstances. Regular work hours are maintained from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, promoting a balanced work-life dynamic.

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments of elderly clients to identify their unique emotional and psychological care needs.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions aimed at addressing emotional difficulties tied to aging and significant life transitions.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to formulate and implement comprehensive care plans that enhance quality of life for our geriatric clients.
• Educate families and staff on effective strategies to support emotional resilience and well-being among elderly individuals.
• Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions to assist clients and their families in navigating end-of-life challenges.
• Implement cognitive stimulation programs and evidence-based interventions designed to maintain and improve mental acuity in older adults.

This role primarily serves seniors grappling with a range of mental health challenges, including adjustment disorders, depression, anxiety, and bereavement issues. Your ability to connect and communicate effectively with elderly clients from diverse backgrounds is essential. The position requires a deep understanding of the unique emotional and psychological needs prevalent in older adults.

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification in the state of Washington.
• A minimum of four years of recent experience in geriatric counseling and mental health support.
• Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based interventions tailored to elderly clients, particularly related to mental health and cognitive well-being.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for establishing rapport with clients and collaborating with professional teams.
• Empathy and cultural sensitivity to effectively support older adults from various backgrounds.

• Specialized training or certifications in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues.
• Proficiency in using telehealth technologies to provide remote counseling effectively.
• Experience working in an interdisciplinary team-focused environment.
