Position Description:

The Aerospace Parts Washer is responsible for cleaning, preparing, and inspecting aircraft and aerospace components to ensure they meet strict quality and cleanliness standards. This role involves operating industrial cleaning equipment, handling approved cleaning chemicals, and following detailed work instructions while maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and aerospace industry regulations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Clean aerospace components using approved solvents, aqueous cleaning systems, ultrasonic cleaners, pressure washers, and other specialized equipment.
  • Remove oils, grease, carbon deposits, sealants, coatings, and contaminants from aircraft parts and assemblies.
  • Inspect cleaned components to verify cleanliness and identify any visible damage, corrosion, or defects.
  • Follow work orders, engineering specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Handle, label, and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and company requirements.
  • Maintain accurate production, cleaning, and inspection records.
  • Operate equipment safely and perform routine maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Ensure all parts are properly identified, protected, and packaged after cleaning.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area using 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance, production, and maintenance personnel to meet production schedules.
  • Any other duties assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions and safety procedures.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use measuring devices and basic inspection tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary CNC education preferred
  • 1+ years of work preferred
  • Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to deal with complexity
  • Capable of working in a customer-focused, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a positive attitude

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, eye protection, face shields, respirators (when required), and protective clothing.
