Job description

Summary:

As a Facility Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of various systems within the facility. Your role will encompass a wide range of tasks, including plumbing, compressor maintenance, electrical repairs, air filter replacement, preventative maintenance, sidewalk maintenance, pressure washing, painting, and carpentry work. The primary goal is to uphold a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment for Palziv.

Key Knowledge and responsibilities:

  1. Plumbing:
    • Conduct routine inspections of plumbing systems.
    • Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages, or other plumbing issues.
    • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures.
  2. Compressor Maintenance:
    • Perform regular checks on compressors and associated equipment.
    • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
    • Troubleshoot and repair compressor malfunctions.
  3. Electrical Repairs:
    • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems.
    • Replace faulty wiring, outlets, switches, and other electrical components.
    • Address electrical emergencies promptly.
  4. Air Filter Replacement:
    • Develop and implement a schedule for air filter replacement.
    • Replace air filters in HVAC systems to maintain air quality.
    • Monitor and address any issues related to air circulation.
  5. Preventative Maintenance:

    • Select and apply appropriate paint and coatings.

  9. Carpentry:

    • Perform basic carpentry tasks, including framing and finishing work.

    • Office Fixture maintenance โ€“ Hanging, etc.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational or technical training is a plus.
  • 5+ years experience in facility maintenance, with expertise in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to work within a Maintenance computerized system to keep records up to date.
  • Strong knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Stamina to perform tasks that may require prolonged periods of standing, bending, and kneeling.
