Job description

Job Title: Stamping Press OperatorJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Stamping Press Operator to join our dynamic team. As a machine operator, you will be responsible for operating progressive, tandem, and transfer presses to produce, verify, stack, and sort metal stampings. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the quality and efficiency of our production process.

Responsibilities
  • Operate progressive, tandem, and transfer presses.
  • Manually load parts or blanks into machines and place parts into inventory baskets.
  • Inspect components and assemblies visually for quality defects, including scrap marks, rust, burrs, lamination, and missing welds.
  • Measure parts to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Record and report production, quality, and inventory information accurately.
  • Monitor weld machines or presses for proper operation and report malfunctions or problems to supervisors and maintenance.
  • Perform all duties and operate machinery and equipment according to company standards and procedures using required safety equipment.
  • Label and tag parts and baskets accurately.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance and setup, including die setting, fastening, and machine lubrication.
  • Utilize tools such as handheld pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and die bars.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in machine operation, particularly with stamping machines and presses.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Proficiency in using power and hand tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in inspection, assembly, and general labor.
  • Familiarity with measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with machine setups and changeovers is a plus, but not required.
  • Mechanical inclination and willingness to learn machine operations are essential.

Work Environment

Work in a heavy industrial environment with several large metal stamping presses and a team of a couple hundred employees. The facility is partially climate-controlled, with improved ventilation. Enjoy a Monday to Friday shift from 1pm to 9:15pm, with a 20-minute paid lunch and extra breaks during hotter periods. Opportunities for overtime are available, extending shifts to 11:15pm when required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.58 - $22.58/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
