Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description

This role supports high-volume automotive manufacturing by operating production machinery, performing assembly and inspection tasks, and handling general labor duties across multiple departments. You will work with components such as gaskets, oil seals, and PTFE materials, ensuring products meet quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work area.

Responsibilities

• Operate various production machinery, including press machines and mold press machines, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Perform assembly tasks on automotive components such as gaskets, oil seals, and related parts.
• Conduct visual and manual inspection of parts to verify quality and identify defects.
• Sort and kit parts and materials according to production requirements and work orders.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and tape measures to complete production and setup activities accurately.
• Assist with basic machine setup and adjustment for stamping, press, and other machinery as directed.
• Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines while working around heavy machinery and moving equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in a dirty and dusty production environment.
• Collaborate with team members, leads, and supervisors to learn processes and meet production goals.
• Participate in orientation and on-the-job training to understand departmental workflows in gaskets, oil seals, and PTFE areas.
• Adhere to attendance and shift schedules, including overnight hours on third shift.
• Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or quality problems to supervisors promptly.

Essential Skills

• Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate press machines, mold press machines, and other production machinery.
• Background in stamping, press operations, and machinery setup or changeover support.
• Capability to perform assembly and inspection tasks with attention to detail.
• Proficiency using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for production and setup tasks.
• Comfort working with blueprints or basic production drawings, if provided.
• Experience using a forklift or willingness to work around forklift operations.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in a dirty, dusty, non-climate-controlled environment.
• Willingness and ability to work 3rd shift, Monday through Friday, from 10:45 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Reliable attendance and ability to follow structured training and orientation processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience in automotive manufacturing or metal stamping environments.
• Familiarity with oil seals, gaskets, PTFE materials, or rubber molding processes.
• Experience with machine setup, basic troubleshooting, and changeovers on press or stamping equipment.
• Comfort learning multiple roles, including machine operation, sorting, kitting, and general labor tasks.
• Ability to learn from supervisors and team members during on-the-job training.
• Openness to cross-training in different departments such as gaskets, oil seals, and PTFE.

Work Environment

This position is based in a high-volume automotive manufacturing plant with three main departments: gaskets, oil seals, and PTFE. All departments are dirty, dusty, and non-climate-controlled, so you should be comfortable working in warm or cold conditions depending on the season. The role involves working around press machines, mold press machines, stamping equipment, forklifts, and other production machinery. The standard schedule for this opening is 3rd shift, Monday through Friday, from 10:45 PM to 7:00 AM. The onboarding process includes a Monday morning orientation at 7:45 AM with human resources on day one, followed by training with your assigned shift, team, and supervisors on day two. The dress code requires steel-toe footwear and allows jeans and regular plain T-shirts; leggings are not permitted. You can expect a physically demanding environment that requires standing for long periods, handling materials, and maintaining safety awareness around heavy equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.96 - $20.96/hr.
