Our client, located in Whitby Ontario is seeking a Press Helper - Flexographic

The Flexographic Press Helper assists the press operator in all aspects of press operation, including setup, material handling, quality control, cleanup, and preventive maintenance. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment, and a willingness to learn flexographic printing processes.

Position Title- Flexographic Press Helper

Pay rate Starting at $23.00/hour

Type of Role: Full Time | 3 month probation to permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM (40 hours/week)

RESPONSIBILITY

  • Assist the Press Operator with press setup and changeovers.
  • Prepare inks and load rolls of film onto an 8-color C.I. flexographic press.
  • Monitor ink levels, viscosity, and color consistency.
  • Remove finished rolls and prepare them for the next production process.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure print registration, color accuracy, and overall print quality.
  • Inspect materials for defects and report quality concerns promptly.
  • Clean and maintain press components, including ink trays, anilox rolls, and doctor blades.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Move raw materials and finished goods using pallet trucks.
  • Follow all GMP, HACCP, food safety, quality, and health & safety procedures.
  • Assist with inventory counts and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Press Operator or Production Supervisor

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with flexographic printing presses.
  • Experience assisting or operating flexographic printing equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, material handling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn and develop into a Press Operator.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and workplace health and safety practices is an asset.
