Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to set up and operate press brake machines to bend, form, and fabricate metal parts according to specifications. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, can read blueprints accurately, and takes pride in producing high-quality work while maintaining a safe work environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate press brake machines (CNC) to form metal components
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
  • Select appropriate tooling, dies, tonnage, bend sequences, and machine settings
  • Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications and tolerances
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Adjust machine settings to optimize quality and efficiency
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
  • Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding production issues or improvements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous experience operating a press brake or similar fabrication equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures)
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Basic math and mechanical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • CNC press brake experience
  • Experience with metal fabrication (steel, aluminum, stainless steel, etc.)
  • Familiarity with quality standards and inspection processes (calipers, micrometers, angle gauges, etc.)
  • Forklift or overhead crane experience (if applicable)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50-100 lbs.
  • Repetitive bending, lifting, and handling of materials

 Work Environment

  • Manufacturing/production floor
  • Exposure to noise, machinery, and metal materials
  • Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
