Job description

About Aegis AI

Aegis AI is building the next generation of email security—powered by AI agents that think and act like human analysts. Our mission is to keep users safe. Our agents stop Phishing, BEC, and Spam attacks before they reach employees, using hundreds of specialized models that collaborate autonomously across inboxes.

Our team was founded by the Google security leaders who built Gmail and Chrome Security. Backed by Accel and Foundation Capital, we're transforming how enterprises protect their people from modern social engineering threats.

The Role

As the Vice President of Operations, you will be the architect of our company’s internal engine. While the founders focus on product vision, engineering breakthroughs, and market expansion, you will ensure the organization has the systems, processes, and operating cadence to execute at lightning speed without derailing.

You will partner directly with the CEO and executive team to turn high-level corporate strategy into rigorous operational reality. This means designing an operating model that scales, leading complex cross-functional initiatives, overseeing resource allocation, and optimizing the connective tissue between Product, Engineering, and Go-To-Market (GTM). This is a highly visible, senior leadership role designed for a proven operator who knows how to orchestrate the scaling of a category-defining AI company.

Responsibilities
  • Scale Business Operations: Design, implement, and own the company’s core operating rhythms (OKRs, QBRs, leadership meetings, and all-hands). Build the infrastructure, processes, and KPIs needed to support hyper-growth.

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Translate long-term corporate strategy into actionable, cross-functional operating plans. Ensure company-wide alignment and hold executive leaders accountable for delivering on key milestones.

  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: Serve as the central hub between Product, Engineering, and GTM. Identify organizational silos, resolve systemic friction points in our "agentic" development cycle, and build scalable frameworks that allow technical and commercial teams to sprint in unison.

  • Incubation & Special Projects: Lead complex, zero-to-one enterprise initiatives. Take ownership of critical gaps—whether standing up a new business function, spearheading international expansion, or driving enterprise-scale GTM partnerships—until they are mature enough to hand off.

  • Financial & Resource Operations: Partner with the CEO on financial planning, budget allocation, and vendor management. Play a key operational role in future fundraising rounds, managing the data room and ensuring business metrics are investor-ready.

Who You Are
  • Seasoned Executive Operator: 12-15+ years of operational leadership experience. You likely have a background as a VP of Operations, COO, GM, or a senior partner at a top-tier management consulting firm transitioning into tech.

  • Scaled a High-Growth Machine: You have been through the hyper-growth journey before. You know what a company looks like at 50, 500, and 1,000+ employees, and you know how to build the operational scaffolding to survive those transitions smoothly.

  • Technically Fluent & AI-Native: You can go toe-to-toe with elite engineers. You are deeply comfortable discussing model precision, human-in-the-loop systems, the evolving threat landscape, and how AI infrastructure impacts unit economics.

  • Systems Thinker & Problem Solver: You are obsessed with efficiency and scale. You can look at a tangled, ambiguous process and immediately see the streamlined, automated, and scalable solution.

  • High Agency, Zero Entitlement: Despite your senior background, you are willing to get into the weeds when the company needs it. You lead with a true "owner" mindset, taking complete responsibility for ambiguous, high-stakes challenges.

Why This Role?

This is a rare opportunity to build the operational foundation of a rapidly scaling, venture-backed AI startup alongside industry veterans. You will be applying your hard-earned expertise to build the "immune system" for the modern enterprise, working directly with the visionaries who built Gmail and Chrome Security, and top-tier partners at Accel and Foundation Capital.
