Prepare hot food items for all areas of the department. Prepare food for cold prep, grab and go, and bulk production, and short order grill. Prep food items as needed for menu cycles Type of Opportunity: Full time Job Exempt: No Job is based: Presbyterian Rust Medical Center Work Shift: Varied Days and Hours (United States of America)

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the preparation of hot food items for all areas as indicated by menu cycles.
  • Responsible for preliminary preparation of food items for next day as indicated by menu cycle.
  • Ability to read production tickets
  • Assists with routine cleaning and sanitation of areas.
  • Assists with serving food items as indicated by established workflow
  • Must demonstrate competency in knife skills
  • Must demonstrate competency in food service safety practices and procedures, and temperature control
  • Perform cooking, plating and completion of dishes in view of/ interacting with customers.
  • Assists with fruit and vegetable preparation and food portioning, and other bulk food preparation
  • Assists with preparing Grab and Go and other retail items
  • Ability to take and fill orders verbally
  • Must be proficient in utilization of flat top grill, convection oven, deep fat fryer, quick cook ovens, and char broiler.
  • Must be proficient in various cooking methods including pan frying, saut�ing, deep frying, boiling, and baking/roasting.
  • Demonstrate customer service and communication skills with guests.
  • Assists with other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Three to five years experience in experience in high volume preparation and cooking of food in a hotel, restaurant, cafeteria, catering firm, government or private institution.
